National Payment Card Joins Retail Broadband Alliance
Group Helps Merchants Migrate to Broadband

Boca Raton, Fla. – (October 6, 2006) – National Payment Card LLC, an electronic funds payment service bureau that interfaces with POS system to add ACH payment options to non-payment cards, has joined the Retail Broadband Alliance, a forum that makes it easy for businesses migrating to broadband networks to increase revenue, cut expenses, and improve customer experience.

National Payment Card’s new ACH payment card allows consumers to link their loyalty cards, membership cards, or driver’s licenses to their checking accounts as an alternate payment method with rewards. The product is designed to provide instant gratification to consumers by rolling back the price per gallon at the pump when the consumer selects this payment option

For merchants the National Payment Card payment system reduces credit/debit card interchange fees. Leveraging New Edge Network broadband products, a merchant can significantly reduce processing transaction fees with a direct connection from the store to the National Payment Card processing center.

“Most gas stations today use legacy communication systems, with many limitations, for new advance applications. National Payment Card technology was created with a future view of Internet broadband services. Joining the Retail Broadband Alliance will allow us to offer, in collaboration with New Edge Networks, communication solutions to maximize the value of broadband services across multiple in-store applications,” said Danilo Portal, Vice President and CTO of National Payment Card. “The Retail Broadband Alliance provides a crucial service for merchants to evolve to the next level of robust and reliable communication infrastructure that uses ready complementary applications for efficient operations.”

The Retail Broadband Alliance brings together companies that represent products and services used in the entire retail sales supply chain for data networks. The Retail Broadband Alliance now includes more than 200 companies. Retail merchants pick and choose the providers they want.

“New Edge Networks welcomes National Payment Card into the growing Retail Broadband Alliance,” said Greg Griffiths, Vice President of Marketing for New Edge Networks. “National Payment Card represents yet another trusted choice for merchants who turn to the Retail Broadband Alliance for support in migrating to broadband.”
